Call for Host Applications: 12th International Cool Climate Wine Symposium (ICCWS) 2030

The New Zealand Society for Viticulture & Oenology (NZSVO) warmly invites applications from cool climate wine regions around the world to host the 12th International Cool Climate Wine Symposium (ICCWS), scheduled for 2030.  

This prestigious event offers a unique opportunity to showcase your region’s wine excellence, research, and innovation to a global audience. If you are passionate about cool climate wine and eager to bring the international community together in your region, we encourage you to apply. 

Step 1
Expressions of Interest 

When submitting your Expression of Interest, please ensure you outline:  

  • The proposed location and venue for the symposium  

  • Details of the prospective host organising body, including their capacity and experience  

Expressions of Interest close on Thursday 31 July 2025.

Step 2
Full Host Bid Submission

Following the Expression of Interest stage, formal host bid applications will open in August 2025. Only those who have submitted an Expression of Interest will be invited to submit a full bid.  

To be considered as the host destination, please prepare and submit the following:   

  • A comprehensive document including budget estimates, potential funding sources, key partnerships, and an overview of available infrastructure.

  • Share what makes your destination / region stand out as a cool climate wine leader. Highlight the unique attributes of your wine region, your established wine industry, and your vision for ICCWS 2030. This is also an opportunity to showcase your organising body's expertise and commitment to delivering an outstanding symposium. 

  • If selected as the next host, we ask that you prepare a brief PowerPoint or equivalent presentation to share at the 2026 ICCWS Gala Dinner. The winning pitch video will also be showcased. We strongly recommend that a representative from your organising body be present to officially accept the hosting role.

Friday 31 October 2025.
